چکیده

The distributed Maxwell-slip model provides a convenient way to describe the presliding friction behavior. The modified single-state Maxwell-slip (MMS) model is proposed with the main benefit to require two concentrated parameters only when describing the smooth hysteresis of the presliding friction. The model is rate-independent at both, saturated and unsaturated hysteresis, and is consistent with the generalized empirical friction model structure. Some novel perceptions on the frictional memory and drift are considered and proved in experiments. The evaluation performed on an actuator system with multiple coupled frictional surfaces reveals the proposed model as easily identifiable and accurate in prediction.

A Generalized Maxwell-Slip Friction Model appropriate for Control Purposes

During the last decades, under the increasing demand for more accurate high-performance motion systems, various friction models appropriate for control purpose of mechanical systems have been proposed. Most of these friction models formulate a heuristic dynamical model based on a few observed typical friction properties (e.g. a Stribeck curve for constant velocities and a hysteresis behaviour i...

Modification of the Leuven integrated friction model structure

This note presents a modification of the integrated friction model structure proposed by Swevers et al., called the Leuven model. The Leuven model structure allows accurate modeling both in the presliding and the sliding regimes without the use of a switching function. The model incorporates a hysteresis function with nonlocal memory and arbitrary transition curves. This note presents two modif...

An integrated friction model structure with improved presliding behavior for accurate friction compensation

This paper presents a new dynamical friction model structure which allows accurate modeling both in the sliding and the presliding regimes. Transition between these two regimes is accomplished without a switching function. The model incorporates a hysteresis function with nonlocal memory and arbitrary transition curves. These last aspects prove essential for modeling presliding friction that is...

Single state elastoplastic friction models

For control applications involving small displacements and velocities, friction modeling and compensation can be very important. In particular, the modeling of presliding displacement (motion prior to fully developed slip) can play a pivotal role. In this paper, it is shown that existing single-state friction models exhibit a nonphysical drift phenomenon which results from modeling presliding a...

Single State Elasto-Plastic Models for Friction Compensation

For control applications involving small displacements and velocities, friction modeling and compensation can be very important. In particular, the phenomena of stiction and presliding displacement (motion during sticking) can play pivotal roles. In this paper, it is shown that existing single-state-variable friction models possess either stiction or presliding displacement. Next, those models ...
